For example, to start with three energy tanks as well as Bubble Man, Air Man, Quick Man, and Heat Man dead and the other four Bosses alive, you would enter the following password: A4 D4 B1 C2 B5 C3 E4 B2 E5. When choosing which Boss you want dead or alive, you need to make sure that you stay in the same column as your energy tank selection.

Defeating Bubbles
The Bubbles are located on the third stage of Dr. Wily's Fortress. Hit the slow Bubbles with the Arm Cannon (Mega Man's weapon), then use the Super Arm to pick up the blocks and throw them at the fast Bubbles.
Defeating Dr. Wily In The Final Battle
Many weapons will not work against Dr. Wily during the final battle. Only two are effective -- the Pharaoh Shot and Ring Boomerang. The Pharaoh Shot works the best. You can charge it up (Square) and release it in six directions. Also, when it is charged up you can run into Dr. Wily with the power-up shot above your head, then shoot it again (release Square). You will be able to defeat Dr. Wily with the Ring Boomerang, but it takes a lot longer and you cannot miss him at all. Once Dr. Wily is defeated, the game will end.
Defeating Dr. Wily The Second Time
Most weapons such as the Mega Buster will not work on Dr. Wily during the second battle with him. Hit Dr. Wily with the Bubble Lead until he is defeated. Once he is defeated, the game will end.
Defeating Dr. Wily
Dr. Wily is loacated on the last stage of his Fortress. First, hit Dr. Wily with the Fire Storm (Fireman's weapon). After part of his machine is destroyed, hit him with the Elec Beam (Elecman's weapon) and use the "Extra damage" trick by pressing Select repeatedly. After that, his machine will be destroyed and the game will end.
Defeating Dr. Wily
When you fight Dr. Wily for the first time, have the Arrow Shot equipped. This is an item that can be created from bolts. Also have Astro Crush as your Mega Power. As you begin your battle, notice the thing that spins around and does four different things (shoots about five multiple shots at you; rolls at you and returns; bounces up and down; shoots a big projectile in the air and dops down to make two smaller ones). Also, sometimes the mouth on the ship will open to fire a big laser. When this happens, fire a charged shot at the mouth. The only time that you should use the Astro Crush is when that circular thing fires the multiples shots at you; they are difficult to avoid and you will not get hurt by them if you use the power. When it rolls at you, jump slightly early. When it bounces, wait for it to bounce twice then slide under it. When it fires the big shot into the air, slide to a different location as the shot will go where you were standing. Then, jump when the two smaller shots go across the floor. If you do these things and are extremely careful, you can defeat him the first time without taking any damage. For the second battle, save the Rush Health option; all of Wily's attacks are very difficult to avoid.
Defeating Level 4 Boss
There are two ways to kill the Dr. Willy level 4 Boss. One way is to use Clash/Crashman's weapon on the walls and the Boss, but you will not have enough left to defeat the Boss (you must keep getting hit and die). When you start back at the check point, find some more weapon energy to fill up Clash/Crashman's weapon. Return to the Boss. The ones you destroyed are gone, but the walls will remain. You now should be able to defeat the Boss. The other way is make sure you have some #1 and #3 remaining. Use #1 to fly up, shoot the one on the right, jump down, shoot that one, use #3 on the wall, go up, head to the bottom right, use one on the wall and the Boss, shoot the ones on the left, then use #1 and fly up. Use the last bit of energy remaining on the last one.
Defeating Quickman
The enemy robot clones operate on flat, uninterrupted rooms in the fifth Skull Castle Stage. Quick Man was specifically programmed for this room. His room in his own stage has two 2-stage rises. Due to this, he seems to run in place for about three seconds on the upside of a step or wall. Use this as an opportunity to deliver a few well-placed Arm Cannon shots.
Defeating Robots In Protoman's Fortress
At the end of each level is a robot Boss. Get Beat the bird and use it on the Bosses. When Beat is in use, jump over the Boss when it gets near you.
Defeating The Clone Of Mega Man
The Clone of Mega Man is located on the second stage of Dr. Wily's Fortress. Hit the Clone with the Elec Beam (Elecman's weapon) or Hyper Bombs (Bomb Man's weapon) and use the "Extra damage" trick.
Defeating The Giant Clam
When you first encounter this Boss (when playing the game from the beginning), you will not be able to do this. However, if you want to return the intro stage and defeat the Giant Clam again, the fastest and easiest way is to use the Astro Crush one time. All of its health will go away.
Defeating The Rock Monster
The Rock Monster is located on the first stage of Dr. Wily's Fortress. Hit him with the Elec Beam (Elecman's weapon) and use the "Extra damage" trick by pressing Select repeatedly.
Double Jump
When you get the Megaball, you can use the ball to double jump and even triple jump. You can do this trick as long as you have energy for the Megaball. Jump, and in the middle of it, use the Megaball. You should land on the ball while you are falling down. The ball will explode, and allow you reach the top of the screen. This depends on where you are. If you want to do a triple jump, release the second ball slightly earlier than the first time. You should go higher than the screen with the triple jump. You must hold Forward while doing this. With enough practice you can even do the double jump going forward and the triple jump going backward and vice versa.
Dr. Wily Level
Enter A1 A3 B2 B5 D3 F4 blue, A6 E1 red as a password.
Extra Damage
Use the Cutman blade or Elecman beam to hit an opponent. Rapidly tap Start or Select repeatedly when your opponent is hit by the weapon to allow the single hit to be counted as multiple attacks.
Extra Health
In the first stage (after the underwater passageway), keep going to the left until you find a large health sphere. Go to it to get most of your health back.
Extra Life
At the beginning part of Clown Man's level, shoot a mega-ball into its mouth for an extra life.
Extra Lives
Obtain the Mega Tank, full life energy, and fully charged weapons. Pause the game on a screen with as many opponents as possible. Use the Mega Tank to turn all the opponents into extra lives.
Finding The Energy Balancer
Begin a game at the Tomahawk Man level. Reach the path that splits into an upper branch that leads to a left ladder, and a bottom branch that leads to a right ladder. Move along the upper branch of the path, climb the ladder, jump on to the ladder above the spikes, hang on the lowest rung, then use a Rush Power blast to destroy the cracked block. Enter the new opening to find the Energy Balancer.
Freeze Opponents
Hold Up + X on controller two during a game.
Note: This has no effect on the eight robot Bosses from Megaman 2 that are found after defeating the eight robot masters. The code will freeze you but the Boss will continue to attack.

Get Protoman's Shield
Go to Cloudman's stage and keep going until you see a ladder above you, Use Rush Coil or Jet to get to it. Protoman will give you advice. Next go to Turboman's level and get to the part where there are street lights. Climb up and on the third screen at the top, jump to the right. You will go through the wall and Protoman will talk to you again. Then, go to Shademan's level. After you defeat the Pumpcan mini-Boss, go down and kill the green enemy. Go past him and you will go through a secret wall and fight Protoman for the Proto Shield.
Get Rush Jet Immediately
Use the following trick to get Rush Jet without having to defeat Needle Man. You must first defeat Shadow Man. Then in the next stage, pause game play, highlight Shadow Man's weapon, and press Right. No weapon will be highlighted, but you will see Rush's icon above the next symbol. Press Start and you will be using the Rush Jet, except with no energy. Collect a weapon capsule in this form and then use any amount of its energy. Pause the game and you will see the Rush Jet is freely accessible from this point forward. You can also do a similar trick to get the Rush Marine, but you need to defeat Spark Man. You can only get the instant access for it if you are in Gemini Man's stage, since the Rush Marine is only usable in water.
Getting Inside Dr. Wily's Castle
In the first stage of Dr. Wily's Castle, you will start outside. You will eventually encounter some big blocks. Use Gutsman's Gutsman Arm and press Square to get Mega Man to pick the blocks up. Press Square again to get Mega Man to throw them. You can also use Elec Man's Elecman Beam.
Hidden Balloon
Go across the top part of Pharoah Man's level. Do not enter the pit when it appears. Instead, use Rush to get across it. Go right, and you will reach more quicksand. Keep going to reach some platforms. There will be a small container marked with a B. This is the balloon.
Hidden Music
Hold Square while selecting Shade Man. Music from the Capcom game Ghouls 'n' Ghosts will be played.
Hidden Wire
Begin a game on Dive Man's level. Fall into the small pit that appears soon after the continue point. Avoid the spikes that line the walls and fall all the way down. A container marked W can be found once you reach the bottom. This is the wire.
Infinite Atomic Heat In Crash Man's Stage
After you defeat Heat Man, or if you happen to have his weapon, go to Crash Man's stage. In the very first area where you are teleported, climb the first two ladders, jump on the highest pipe, and select the Atomic Heat. Run to the wall and begin pressing X + Square rapidly (try not to charge), jumping and shooting facing the wall. You must have some Atomic Heat weapon energy in order for it to work. If it does not work and you cannot fire anymore, just get a weapon refill from the enemies around that area and try again. If done correctly, your Atomic Heat will automatically refill itself and you will never run out no matter how long you charge. This trick will not work on any other stage or using any other weapon.
Invincibility
Hold Right on controller two during a game. Find a pitfall and fall in. Sometimes if you wait a few seconds, you while hear the sound of Megaman dying and your health will totally disappear. Jump out of the pit and you will have invincibility as long as you do not collect any health capsules. While you are holding Right on controller two, you will have super jump and can fall into pits without getting hurt and be able to jump high.

Locating Dr. Wily In Dr. Wily's Fortress
Get Beat the bird, and get to Dr. Wily's Fortress (last stage). When you fight Dr. Wily when he is in his spaceship, use Beat. When he disappears, jump up and Beat will fly around in a circle. That is where Dr. Wily will end up.
Longer Jumps
When jumping, rapidly tap Start to remain in the air longer.
Magnet Beam
The Magnet Beam is found in Elecman's Stage. You need to use Gutsman's Super Arm to break some big blocks to reach it, or you can use Elecman's Elec Beam. The Magnet Beam is a step that Mega Man can use to reach places that he normally cannot go to. This is useful in Iceman's Stage and is required to get through a section in the first Stage of Dr. Wily's Fortress.

Recommended Order To Defeating The Bosses
Flash Man: With two to three Bubble Lead (B) hits.

Wood Man: With approximately seven Metal Blades (M).
Air Man: With two to three Launchable Leaf Shields (W).
Crash Man: With two direct Air Shooter (A) hits.
Heat Man: With about four to seven Bubble Lead (B) hits or four Air Shooter (A) hits.

Air Man: Two shots of the Air Shield.

Crash Man: Two shots from Air Blast.

Flash Man: Four Metal Blade hits.

Quick Man: Use Flash Stopper to knock off half of his energy, then fire a regular shot. Be quick and watch his pattern. The same works for the fifth level of the Dr. Wily stage, when you fight them again. When you fight Metal Man, one shot from the Metal Blade will suffice.

The recommended order for defeating the robot masters is as follows, if you want to get 100% in this game by getting all 1-up Mega Man lives, all Energy Tanks, all weapon pellets and all energy pellets.

Wood Man: Charge up Atomic Fire to full and kill him in one hit.
    Air Man: Use Leaf Shield.
Crash Man: Use Air Shooter (two hits).
Flash Man: Use the normal Mega Buster.
Quick Man: Use Time Stopper which will drain half his life, then pelt him with Mega Buster shots.
    Metal Man: Use Quick Boomerang.

Another order to use is as follows:

    Metal Man Use MegaBuster
    Wood Man Use Metal Blades
    Air Man Use MegaBuster
    Crash Man Use Air Shooter
    Bubble Man Use CrashBomb

    Ice Man: Use Elec shot.

Fire Man: Use the Ice shot not only on Fireman, but to freeze obstacles that you tend to run into throughout the stage.

Fire Man: Use Ice Slasher (Ice Man's weapon). This can also freeze the fire that appears in some sections of this stage, which will allow you to reach places that Mega Man cannot.

Recommended Order To Defeating The Bosses

Magnet Man (uses Magnet Missile): Use the Arm Cannon (Mega Man's weapon).

Hard Man (uses Hard Knuckle): Use the Magnet Missile (Magnet Man's weapon).

Megaman 4

Robot Masters' Weaknesses
As with all Megaman games, each Robot Master can take a certain number of hits from each weapon. Some are impervious to other weapons (bullet, missile, Atomic Fire). In the fifth Skull Castle stage (or throughout the game), learn what weapons do the best damage to a specific Boss.

Metal Man can be defeated with one hit from his own Metal Blades (which only use half of an energy unit each). Metalman is also easily defeated by about six to fourteen Quick Boomerangs.

Crash Man can be defeated by running in an infinity symbol pattern (an elongated sideways figure 8) and shooting him with either an Arm Cannon or Quick Boomerang shot fourteen times or the Air Shooter twice.

Air Man can only take two to three Leaf Shields into his intake valves. Wait until he fires his salvo of 3 Air Shooter attacks. He then jumps to the other side of the room to continue his assault. Hit him from behind. His tornadoes are bulletproof.

Flash Man can be fooled into walking into a Crash Bomb placed into the left wall. Wait on the upside the until he reaches you. Place the bomb when he is two thirds of the way there. If he reaches you, stay there. Even with the Time Stopper on, the damage you do to him will more than make up for what he does to you. If it works on time, it will only take one Bomb. Otherwise, It may take two or three attempts.

If you make a direct hit with Crash Bombs on Woodman's orbiting Leaf Shield, you will take him out faster than you would with the Metal Blades. One to two hits on the shield itself will defeat him. If you hit him through the leaves, it will take more hits and weapon energy. If you use Metal Blades, it will take more than two weapon units worth to blast an unshielded Wood Man.

If you do not mind being birthday cake pink, Quick Boomerangs will easily take out Metal Man and Bubble Man. Bubble Man can also be taken out by Metal Blades as he descends from his swim.

Heat Man (the giant yellow flip-top lighter) can be cooled off with the Air Shooter, Arm Cannon (P), or Bubble Lead. Use him as a toreador or matador uses a bull. After a direct hit, he flames up and turns into a three-stage fire missile, aimed at your last spot before his conversion. Leap over him and counter his attack with an immediate direct hit, which forces him to perform the same feat again. Continue this bullfighting technique until this "heat wave" dies down.

Quickman can be defeated by using his weakness (see "Quickman's Flaw") against him and/or using the Time Stopper (F) in the room. It hurts him to be slowed down or have his program halted. If you can successfully "super-charge" up (hold Square until the flashing weapons meter changes from a yellow flash, to a light blue flash, to an intense white flash) the Atomic Fire (H) and hit Quick Man with it, he can be defeated in two hits, removing eight units of white-hot weapons energy each. Do not worry, as you have twenty-eight energy units in all.

Silent Mega Buster Charging
Whenever you charge up the Mega Buster, fire it at an enemy then immediately charge it up once again. Whenever you charge up the Mega Buster, keep it charged up then encounter something else for which it will make a different sound effect. Whenever you charge up the Mega Buster, keep it charged then encounter an enemy that will make a different sound effect. Any one of those three occurrences will then silence the Mega Buster's charging up sound effect. It will be silent and stay that way while still charged up until you release that shot and charge it again.

After you have saved one game, quit, start a new game, and choose another Megaman game. You can either die or defeat the desired Boss, as long as it saves your game. Then, quit and load your game. The game that you just played can now be accessed along with your first game. Repeat this until all Megaman games are playable on your saved game.
